Performance & Projection
„Currents“ is a performance by Ruben Bass about the beauty of our daily surroundings and how
ignorant we are towards it.
The performance shows visuals and music composed by the artist, as well as himself playing the
role of a person that is ignorant towards their surroundings.
​
The purpose is highlighting the beautiful parts of our surroundings that we see every day but we
decide not to look closely.
​
This is guided by the music which changes according to the
different projected natural-structures, both together symbolize waves. To bring the ignorance into
the performance a grumpy, not caring person is walking trough music and visuals, which are after
all just waves from nature. The person does not see any beauty in daily surroundings, which is
overdone to emphasize the message more.
